Honest Advice

Most students (and parents!) have plenty of questions when it comes to navigating the waters of standardized testing. We’ll answer yours and take the weight off your shoulders.

Scott kept us parents in the loop right from the start and crafted a very specific program to help Michael improve his Reading to the high 30s.
“Scott helped my son tremendously in reaching a 34 superscore. After working with another tutor for over a month without growth, we were nervous and decided to switch tutors. Scott kept us parents in the loop right from the start and crafted a very specific program to help Michael improve his Reading to the high 30s. Scott ran very efficient sessions by grading all homework before the session and ensuring Michael knew the strategies and rules well. Without a doubt, I recommend anyone looking to score above a 30 on the ACT to work with Scott compared to other options out there.”
“Scott is fantastic. Not only does he know this material inside and out, his personal approach created an immediate and motivating connection with our son. His expertise plus his emotional intelligence is a winning combination that will serve your child well. It certainly did our son, as he achieved his desired ACT result, which was a 33 overall composite on the ACT.”

Helping students keep up with college admissions

The testing landscape can be confusing with varying levels of testing requirements for college applications. When COVID spread, many schools reverted to test-optional policies given the uncertain testing landscape from a logistical perspective.

Universities are evolving their policies as more time passes from 2020. MIT, for example, recently announced requiring all applicants to submit standardized test scores. Other schools, like the University of Michigan, still have a test optional policy.

Even with schools that are currently test optional, submitting test scores can help your student’s chances with college admissions.

Adapting to computer-based testing

The SAT announced it will be administering a revamped SAT starting in 2023. We can help families navigate the impact of this transition to put students in the best position to succeed.
